dc.description.abstract | Dog’s viral diseases, such as Distemper and Parvo have a high morbidity and mortality rate. There is no cure, the treatment is only based on the clinical signs which veterinarian could see. Vaccination is the only way to prevent these viral diseases. Based on Animal Hospital Bogor Agricultural University’s data, in Parvo case, pure breed dogs have a higher incidence rate than local and mix breed dogs. Then the age of infected dogs under 1 year with the highest incidence rate at age 3-6 months, whereas the male gender has a higher incidence rate than female. For the case of Distemper, mix breed dogs have a higher incidence rate compared with pure breed dogs. Age of Distemper infected dogs are varied between 2 months to 1 year and there is no gender specific has the higher-level events. Study which is conducted at Animal Hospital Bogor Agricultural University to obtain secondary data of the Distemper and Parvo suspects, as comparison to another secondary data of Bogor’s climate. Changes of rainfall amount as one of weather elements can indirectly affect the incidence of disease Parvo and Distemper, but has no specific pattern. This is seen in both Parvo and Distemper cases, but the number of Parvo cases more than Distemper because CPV is more resistant due to the environment and easily mutate. | en |
