dc.description.abstract | Peer-to-peer network is a new paradigm to build a distributed network application. The network that is created is a heterogeneous network consisting of different resources, operating systems, and protocols. Peers connected in different networks can cause stability problem to peerto- peer network. Hierarchical peer-to-peer is a new paradigm which can solve the problem heterogeneous network by using two layers. Superpeer is one topology that uses this concept. This research shows the dynamism of peers connected in Superpeer topology with many conditions. Maximum capacity, degree, and value distribution are the parameters used to see the stability of this topology. Topology stability is marked by attaining ideal topology configuration that is the minimum amount of Superpeer node. The result of this research shows that different distributions result in different amount of Superpeer. The higher maximum node capacity, the fewer number Superpeer is required and the smaller cost of communication to achieve stability is needed, but the total of movement is higher. The total of used degree in both distributions gave better result for the amount of Superpeer, communication costs, and the amount of movement. | en |
