      Abstract
      Recently the problems of environment take enough attention in most of all countries, not only in developing countries but also in developed countries. One of the problems is global warming. The increase of glasshouse effect intensity which is caused by green house gas (GHG), will cause global warming. GHG that assumed have the most contribution to global warming symptom is CO2, C~, N20, NOX, CO, PFC and SF6. CO2 give the biggest contribution to global warming, at about 82 % while CH4 give contribution about 15 % from GHG total. The most important GHG is CO2 that come from respiration, decomposition, combustion of organic matter and combustion of fossil fuel
       
      Dewasa ini permasalahan lingkungan hidup telah mendapat perhatian yang cukup besar di hampir semua negara, baik di negara berkembang maupun negara maju. Salah satunya adalah permasalahan pemanasan global. Naiknya intensitas efek rumah kaca yang disebabkan oleh gas-gas rumah kaca (GRK) akan menyebabkan pemanasan global. Adapun GRK yang dianggap paling berkontribusi terhadap gejala pemanasan global adalah CO2, CH4, N20, NOX, CO, PFC dan SF6. Dari GRK tersebut, CO2 memberikan kontribusi terbesar terhadap pemanasan global yaitu 82 % sementara CH4 memberikan kontribusi 15 %. GRK yang penting adalah CO2 yang berasal dari respirasi, pembusukan, pembakaran bahan organik dan pembakaran bahan bakar fosil.
