      Abstract
      In this study, both of natural zeolite, which were obtained from Sukabumi and Lampung have been modified, using H3PO4 and NaHCO3 solution. Analysis of the zeolites using XRD, BET, SEM-EDS and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) showed that there are differences between zeolite before modified and the one after modification. Application of the modified zeolites as an adsorbent for Pb(II) in solution showed; the optimum adsorption capacity reached at pH of 5 and 0.2 g of adsorbent. Based on the dynamic study, both type of adsorbents for Pb(II) sorption were following pseudo second order kinetic and Langmuir equation as chemosorption. Additionally, the thermodynamic determination revealed that the adsorption were exothermic.
       
      Timbal (Pb) merupakan salah satu logam berat yang biasa menjadi salah satu kontaminan dalam limbah cair kegiatan industri, misalnya pada industri: pengecoran dan pemurnian, baterai, bahan bakar, kabel, serta bahan kimia yang menggunakan bahan pewarna. Keracunan Pb dapat menyebabkan gangnguan kesehatan seperti gangguan fungsi hati, ginjal, keterlambatan perkembangan mental, kemandulan dan gangguan sistem syaraf. Oleh karena itu perlu ada upaya untuk mengurangi keberadaan kontaminan ini dalam limbah atau lingkungan. Berbagai metode telah dikembangkan untuk upaya penanganan hal tersebut, salah satunya adalah adsorpsi dengan zeolit.
