dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research was to study the total plate count of chicken and duck eggs in West Java. This research consist of two parts, data collection using questionnaire and laboratory work. The questionnaire was collected from 35 eggs traders in traditional market of West Java, then analyzed descriptively. There were 25 chicken eggs and 10 duck eggs taken in purpose from traditional markets for sampel testing. The average result of microorganism on chicken eggs in Purwakarta, Bogor, Cianjur, Indramayu district, and Cirebon municipality was 1.2 x 102 cfu/ml, 2.0 x 101 cfu/ml, 1.2 x 101 cfu/ml, 2.9 x 102 cfu/ml, and 6.8 x 105 cfu/ml respectively. The average result of the total plate count on duck eggs in Indramayu district and Cirebon municipality was 1.2 x 103 cfu/ml and 2.8 x 104 cfu/ml respectively. Based on SNI 3926:2008, the maximum limit of total plate count on chicken and duck eggs was 1.0 x 105 cfu/ml. The result showed that number of microorganism did not comply with SNI of chicken and duck eggs were 4% and 10%.en
