dc.description.abstractThe objectives of this study was to know the prevalence, the treatment of canine scabies in Jakarta Animal Hospital and the treatment effectiveness. This research was conducted in September to October 2011 by collecting the medical record of dog patients that positively diagnosed scabies. The data were analyzed descriptively with several categories such as race, haircoat, sex, age, and the treatment effectiveness. The results showed that there were 187 from 30.659 dogs infested by scabies (0.66%), and consisted of 36 races. The highest dogs that infested by scabies were local dogs (17.6%), short-haired dogs (65.24%), male dogs (60.43%), and adult dogs (77.54%). There were two drugs that usually used for scabies treatment at Jakarta Animal Hospital, ivermectin and fipronil. The effectiveness of ivemerctin was 93,67% and fipronil was 92,31%.en
