Beta-lactam antibiotic residue occurs in pasteurization milk due to application of beta-lactam antibiotic in dairy cattle treatment. The residue does not only create problems in dairy industry but also have impact on public health. The aims of the study were to determine the presence and the amount of beta-lactam antibiotic in imported pasteurization milk. Sample size was calculated using the formula to detect disease according Canon and Roe (1982) cited by Martin et al. (1987). The sixty samples of imported pasteurized milk from Australia were used in this study. The bioassay (screening test) was used and followed by confirmation test used high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Both of the tests showed negative result. It means all of the samples did not contain beta-lactam antibiotic.en
