Economic Valuation of Seagrass Ecosystem in Waidoba Island, South Halmahera Regency Province of North Moluccas

Abstract
Seagrass is high level vegetation (Angiosperm), which has adapted to survive under sea water. Seagrass ecosystem gives benefit to product goods and service which can be consumed directly or indirectly. The research was done in Waidoba Island, South Halmahera, Province of North Moluccas. which purposed to see types of seagrass ecosystem, estimation of economic value of function and benefit of seagress ecosystem, and alternative management of seagress ecosystem in Waidoba Island. The method of research of economic values of seagress ecosystem used transect method and transect plot, effect on production (EoP) and CVM. Based on research, economic value of seagress ecosystem in Waidoba Island showed total economic value 255.324.598.410 per year. The economic value included direct use value (fisheries) and indirect use value (nursery ground, blue carbon), option value, existence value, and bequest value.
