Pengukuran Koefisien Serapan Suara Beberapa Jenis Kayu dengan Metode Gelombang Berdiri pada Tabung Resonansi
Measurement of Sound Absorption Coefficient of Several Types of Wood using the Standing Wave Method in Resonance Tube.
Abstract
Wood has the ability to muffle the sound. Sound absorption coefficient values in each type of wood is different. Thickness and moisture content affect the value of sound absorption coefficient in jackfruit wood (Artocarpus heterophyllus Larnk), mahogany wood (Swietenia mahagoni Jack) and teak wood (Tectona grandis Linn. F.). The study was conducted with four variations of thickness that is I cm, 2 cm, 3 cm and 4 cm, with a frequency range 200 Hz - 5000 Hz. In general, the sample ofjackfruit wood, mahogany wood and teak wood with a thickness of I cm, the value of sound absorption coefficient with a value of 0.657 looks optimal at high frequency (about 5000 Hz), a thickness of 2 cm with a value of 0.907 looks optimal at a frequency of 2500 Hz - 5000 Hz, a thickness of 3 cm with a value of 0.903 looks optimal at a frequency of 2000 Hz - 3000 Hz, while a thickness of 4 cm with a value of 0.811 looks optimal at a lower frequency is 1000 Hz - 2500 Hz. The greater the thickness of a sample so the sample is better used as a sound absorbing material at lower frequencies. Water content of 9.007% in the wood appears to increase the value of sound absorption coefficient of 0.129 at a frequency of 2000 Hz. Kayu memiliki kemampuan untuk meredam suara. Nilai koefisien serapan suara pada setiap jenis kayu berbeda-beda. Ketebalan dan kadar air berpengaruh terhadap nilai koefisien serapan suara pada kayu nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus Larnk), kayu mahoni (Swietenia mahagoni Jack) dan kayu jati (Tectona grandis Linn. F.).
