dc.description.abstract | Cisadane River is a main river of Cisadane Watershed. The changing of landcover/landuse and decreasing of riparian vegetation can threaten function and value of Cisadane River. The aim of this research was to analysis the role of riparian vegetation in maintaining water quality of Cisadane River. Image Processing and GIS techniques were to analysis landuse/landcover. Vegetation analysis method was applied to analysis structure and composition of riparian vegetation. Measuring water quality factors was to analysis the quality of Cisadane River. Results showed that DAS Cisadane was 155,149.39 ha. The type of landuse i.e. primary forest (7,332.67 ha; 4.73%), secondary forest (3,4718.58 ha; 22.38%), plantation (6,261.59 ha; 4.04%), mixed garden (24,439.49 ha; 15.75%), shrubs (14,511.34 ha; 9.35%), bare land (25,863.08 ha; 16.67%), built area (16,467.87 ha; 10.61%), rice field (20,919.83 ha; 13.48%), ponds (1,858.08 ha; 1.20%), and water bodies (2,776.87 ha;1.79%). Cisadane River used for domestic, irrigation, transportation, food source, and financial source. The highest composition of riparian vegetation was Poaceae (43.27%) dan Asteraceae (28.60%). The highest species density were Digitaria longiflora (15.51%), Wedelia trilobata (11.80%), and Digitaria violances (9.68%). Index H’ from up stream, middle and down i.e. 3.17; 3.10, and 1.48, respectively. Based on Index H’ of macrozoobenthos, the water quality were i.e. good (Station 1), quite good (Station 2-5), moderate (Station 6), and not good (Station 7-9). Based on DO, water quality i.e. moderately polluted (Station 1-6) and heavily polluted (Station 7-9). dc.description.abstract | Sungai merupakan ekosistem yang sangat penting bagi manusia. Sungai Cisadane melintasi Provinsi Jawa Barat dan Banten. Sungai ini memiliki fungsi dan nilai yang sangat tinggi bagi kehidupan manusia dan hidupan liar. Kegiatan manusia yang telah memanfaatkan hutan di Daerah Aliran Sungai/DAS Cisadane sebagai lahan permukiman, pertanian, industri dan infrastruktur telah mengubah penutupan lahan di DAS Cisadane. Perubahan penutupan lahan tersebut dapat mengancam fungsi dan nilai ekosistem Sungai Cisadane. Fungsi dan nilai sungai dapat dipertahankan jika vegetasi riparian berfungsi dengan baik. Vegetasi riparian dilaporkan memiliki banyak fungsi antara lain mempertahankan kualitas air sungai (Petts 1990; Chang 2006). Gangguan terhadap riparian menjadi penyebab utama terjadinya penurunan struktur dan fungsi sungai (Gordon et al. 2004). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang peranan vegetasi riparian dalam mempertahankan kualitas air Sungai Cisadane. Tujuan tersebut dicapai melalui tahapan sebagai berikut: menganalisis penutupan/pemanfaatan lahan Sungai Cisadane;mengidentifikasi manfaat Sungai Cisadane bagi penduduk; menganalisis struktur dan komposisi vegetasi riparian Sungai Cisadane; menganalisis kualitas air sungai (biofisikokimia); dan menganalisis peranan vegetasi riparian dalam mempertahankan kualitas air Sungai Cisadane. Penelitian dilakukan di sembilan (9) titik di sepanjang Sungai Cisadane dari hulu hingga hilir yang melintasi Provinsi Jawa Barat dan Banten pada Juni 2010 hingga November 2011. Analisis data tutupan lahan dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisik Remote Sensing, Fakultas Kehutanan IPB. Analisis vegetasi dilakukan di Laboratorium Ekologi, Fakultas Kehutanan IPB. Pengukuran faktor fisik dan kimia air permukaan sungai dilakukan di Lab. Proling, IPB. Sementara untuk makrozoobentos pengamatan dilakukan di Lab. Biomikro 1, IPB dan Lab.Anatomi, FKH-IPB. Metode pengumpulan data disesuaikan untuk masing-masing tahapan penelitian. Data yang dikumpulkan untuk penutupan/penggunaan lahan DAS Cisadane berupa data primer dan sekunder. Data primer spasial yaitu citra Landat tahun 2009. Data sekunder yaitu data sungai dan administrasi. | |
