      Abstract
      A tridiagonal matrix is a matrix which has zero elements except the elements at the main diagonal, the elements at the first diagonal below the main diagonal (subdiagonal) and the elements at the first diagonal above the main diagonal (superdiagonal). The diagonal entries are non constant and recurrent. Each entry in this tridiagonal matrix is a complex number. This manuscript will prove 3 theorems to determine eigenvalues with 2 cases and a theorem to determine eigenvectors. The first theorem determines the characteristic polynomial of tridiagonal matrix. The characteristic polynomial of the tridiagonal matrix can be used to determine the eigenvalues in the second and third theorems. Furthermore, it can be used to determine the eigenvectors in the fourth theorem.
       
      Matriks tridiagonal adalah suatu matriks yang mempunyai entri-entri bernilai nol kecuali pada diagonal utama, di bawah diagonal utama (subdiagonal) dan di atas diagonal utama (superdiagonal). Entri pada diagonal utama tidak konstan dan berulang. Setiap entri pada matriks tridiagonal ini adalah bilangan kompleks. Dalam karya ilmiah ini, akan dibuktikan 3 teorema untuk menentukan nilai eigen dengan 2 kasus dan 1 teorema untuk menentukan vektor eigen. Teorema pertama menentukan polinomial karakteristik dari matriks tridiagonal. Polinomial karakteristik dari matriks tridiagonal tersebut digunakan untuk menentukan nilai eigen pada teorema kedua dan ketiga serta menentukan vektor eigen pada teorema keempat
