dc.description.abstractNineteen hacteria. were isolated from digestive tract of Epinephelus tauvina and screened for their ability to produce protease. The largest clear zone was recorded for BKL-1 isolate. BKL-1 isolate was identified as Citrobacter sp. The protease from Citrobacter sp. strain BKL-1 showed a maximum activity after 15 hours cultivation in liquid media. Protease production was detected at a stationary growth phaseen
