Javan gibbons are endangered primates which are get a high conservation priority through programs of rehabilitation and releasing in the wild, but still constrained to searches the exact release location. The research objective is to identify and analyze the determinant factors of preference, and to formulate a model of spatial characteristics and preferential habitat javan gibbons at Gunung Tilu Nature Reserve (GTNR). The results of chi square test with 95% confidence level indicate the significance of the relationship on all variables is identified. Multiple regression analysis showed that the diameter of the tree is the most determinant variable in javan gibbon habitat. The physical characteristics of preferential gibbon habitat in the GTNR are; habitat at an altitude 1.024-1.093 m asl, slope ≥ 39%, the distance from the plantations as far as 221 m, the distance of habitat by road as far as 646 m, the maximum distance of habitat by river as far as 65 m. Whereas the biotic characteristics are; the habitat with the composition of trees ≥ 49 cm diameter, tree height ≥ 19 m, height of first branches of trees ≥ 14 m, the shape of the canopy as irregular circle and half circle, the tree profile (canopy position) at the upper canopy and lower canopy and Leaf Area Index on the value of 3.2 to 3.4. Euclidean distance analysis in ArcGIS is used in several physical variables that have discrete data then transformed to continuous data, to construct preferential habitat map. Maps obtained based on multiple regression equations showed the alleged preferential habitat in GTNR covering an area of 778.46 ha and 5232.11 ha of non-preferential area.
