Ragam jenis ektoparasit pada hewan uji coba tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur sprague dawley

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the diversity and rholgy of ectoparasite of Rattus norvegicus strain Spargue Dawley experimental animal. The research was conducted in March to April 2010 and implemented in 3 phases: sampling, blood smear preparationrand identification. The ectoparasites were collected and mounted by Hoyer solution. Species identification was done using Baker and Canines systematic key (1958). The results showed that there were 3 species of ectoparasites found in experimental animavegicus, i.e. Laelaps echidnimus (92%), Polyplax spinulosa (6%), and Ixodid ticks larvae (2%).
