| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this research was analyzing the performance attain from various kinds of vegetative propagates and BAP previous treatment in in vitro to the second generation of pineapple in field-testing. This research was conducted in Tropical Fruit Research Center, Tajur, located at 400 m over sea level, 416 mm rainfall per month, and temperature was about 25-31 OC. Research started on May 2005 until August 2006. The design used was Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design with two factors. In the other hand, kinds of vegetative propagates was divided into three, ratoon, sucker, and crown. Each combination was repeated three times while for crown not repeated due to lack of supply. BAP treatment as a factor given in four levels, 0.5 mg4, 1 mg4, 2 mg4, and 4 mgll. BAP had given in in vifro multiplication stage. Total of material was 545 plants and observation brought about to 280 plants. A cultural activity such as fertilization, weeding, and pest controlled applied in certain times. Fertilization given in three times with different dosage. Weeding was done manually depend on the plantation's condition. Pest controlling executed to the plantation twice. Insecticide and rodenticide was the materials for controlling the pests. Variable observations included vegetative growth (plant diameter, plant height, leaf length, leaf width, and numbers of leaf), post-harvesting (numbers of leaf on peduncle, numbers of crown, peduncle length, fruit weight, crown weight, total weight of fiuit, fruit length, crown length, fiuit diameter, cup depth, edible portion, core width, acidity, and total soluble solid), and the numbers of vegetative propagates (ratoon, sucker, hapas, and slips). Observation on vegetative growth conducted 11 times at 2-13 month after planting. Post-harvesting observation had done directly after harvesting. The condition of plantation was good Several weed, pests, and diseases found with no significant effect to the plantation. The variation that occurred was the rapidity of flowering and harvesting time. From the observation concluded that BAP treatment affected leaf length and total weight of fruit. Different kinds of vegetative propagate affected total weight of fruit and cup depth.-This result considered good, because the BAP treatment gave no declining effect on cultivation in field. Therefore, that BAP considered not affecting on growth stability. Different kinds of vegetative propagate also gave no significant difference. In quality, fruits dominantly conical in shape. | en |
