This caused on the decrease of Green Open Space (RTH) which lowered the beauty and comfol-t of the city due to increasing urban surface temperature. Remote sensing data is used to identify the changes on temperature distribution caused by land cover changes. While Geographic Infor~nation System is applied to gain precise spatial data in a short time. The purposes of this study are ( I ) to lcnow and analyze land cover changes in Bandung City year 1997, 2002, and 2006; (2) to know and analyze the distribution of surface temperature due to land cover changes in Bandung City year 1997, 2002 and 2006; and (3) to determine correlation between vegetated Nol-nzalized Diference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and urban surface temperature. The methods of the study include laboratory work and ground check. Processi~lgo f Landsat image TM and ETM used ERDAS Inzcigine 8.5. This work consisted of ( I ) data import. layer stacking, geometric correction, image cropping, land cover classification, and accuracy test for the res~~lotf land cover classification; (2) conversion of Band 6 into surface temperature and classification of urban surface temperature, analysis of land cover impact on the distribution of surface temperature in urban and rural areas; and (3) correlation between vegetated Nornznlized Dijfel-ence Vegetation Index (NDVI) and surface temperature. | en |
