      Abstract
The aim of the research is to investigate the histopathology of atheroma lesion within aorta wall from hyperlipemic rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) with and without antihyperlipidemia drug treatment using Cryo-section method. The research use 12 New Zealand white rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculuc;) devided into 3 groups, hyperlipemic rabbit group (H), hyperlipemic rabbit group with anti-hyperlipidemia drug treatment (HA) and control group (KN). The hyperlipemic condition of the animal was obtained by giving the rabbit 02g/day pure cholesterol for 3 months, and anti-hyperlipidemia drug of choice is statin dose 1.25glday for 2 month treatment. The examination of aorta wall revealed that the New Zealand white rabbit is responsive for the atherogenesis process, The atherogenesis observed inclllde lipid accumulation on the endothelial surface, lipid initiation in the intimal up to the medial layer of aorta wall and atheroma plaque formation. All the rabbits showed the athrogenesis process. The anti-hyperlipidemia drug could decrease the blood total cholesterol level and damaged the plaque structure. The cryo-section technique with Sudan Black staining could show lipid distribution on arterial wall and fragile atheroma lesion obviously.
