Along with Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (DETABEK), Regency and Municipality of Bogor are located near Jakarta (for about 60 km), hence are influenced economically from Jakarta's growth. It implies that BODETABEK serves as Jakarta's suburban and is known widely as the buffer. These areas are reserved to accept overflows of investment on economic development of Jakarta. The areas are supported by their contiguous spatial setup with enhanced access such as primary road networks and highways. This amenity is shown by duration of travel between Bogor and Jakalia which takes less than 1 hour and therefore attracts people who takes jobs in Jakarta to reside in Bogor. Results of remotely -sensed image classification indicate that the biggest conversion occurs in paddy field areas which decreases to 13,72 % and forested areas which decreases to 43,2 % from previous state (year 1991 - 2001). Urbanized areas rise up to 14,66 %. Classification of land capability shows that Class VI acreage is about 441,43 Ha. It is shown that most ofland utilizations are used inappropriately in comparasion to their actual capabilities. Employing Hayashi 2 (Axis 1) and Multinomial Logit, we find similar results between both of them. Andisols; Climate of III C; Slope class of 8 - 15 %; and the second grade of land capability is the most influencing factors. Instead we also find inconsistencies of the results from both. Distance to nearest roads and its growth centers is the most influencing factor to land use change. On analysis of Hayashi 2 (Axis 3) and Multinomial Logit, we find that the most influenced factor is land capability and distance nearest roads and to growth centers . Scatterplot was employed to illustrate patterns between land use changes, III particular for the conversion patterns of the Forest-Upland Field, ForestSettlement, Forest-Paddy Field, Paddy Field-Upland Field, and Upland FieldSettlement and their relations to four types of distance setup: to nearest roads, to Bogor CBD, to Jakarta CBD, and Cipanas CBD. There are no such patterns observed in this research. Further, conversions, are indicated to all areas regardless of the distance to both growth centers or road networks.en
