Kajian pengelolaan agroforestri dan konservasi keanekaragaman hayati

Abstract

Presence of forest area which setted by government such as IUPHHK and nature reserve area are unable giving welfare to surrounding comunities. Deforestation is occur in that forested area which sooner or later will bringg the forest area to the point where unable to supply the wood demand. Non timber forest product is main product of agroforests in indonesia whereas timber forest product is the secondary product. Even so existence of community-owned agroforest more able giving walfare to the community and agroforest was estimated as an answer where the nature forest unable to supply the wood demand. Purpose of this research is to know the scheme of agroforest management and its benefits for community and biodiversity conservation. Research was held in Gunung Mananggel, Kecamatan Mande, Kabupaten Cianjur, West Java. Start by October 2009 till November 2010. Method that used was interviewing people arround the area and participative observation. the biodiversity research using vegetation analitic and making diagram profil of vegetation. Gunung Mananggel forested area consist of mosaics of few type of agroforest which at least consist of two canopy level. land of this area managed by farmers using agroforestry system. At least three types cyclical agroforest which indistinguishable exactly. that were durian agroforest, rubber plant agroforest and mixed agroforest. The benefit of this area to people especiallu farmers as a main source of livelihood such as source of fuelwood, woods supply, source of vegetables and complementary foods. Gunung Mananggel area has role to nature resource conservation as water catchment area and wildlife area. there are more than 39 species avifauna, two species primate and two another mammals.
