dc.description.abstractINTRODUCTION. Generally, as a building material wood has a servicetime between 5-10 years. In order to overcome this issue, it needs an effort to increase the service time of wood by developing the wood preservation technology. However, the awareness to the importance of wood sometime occurs when the wood has been attached as a construction component and even has been deteriorated by the wood destroying organism. Nowadays, the method of wood preservation have been developed using a wood injector. This Injection method can be applied to post-construction wood. The principle of this injection method are pushing the preservative into the wood with the help of pressure which is generated by a special injector through one or more applications hole which is equipped with a valve. Due to the pressure and application hole, the treatability and its influence before and after to physical properties and strength of wood need to be known. MATERIAL AND METHOD. The beam samples which used were Acacia (Acacia mangium Willd.) and Balsa (Ochroma bicolor Rowlee). The size of Acacia and Balsa were (8x12x100) cm3 and (6x12x100) cm3. The injection process used the pressure of 170 bar and 50 bar at the injection distance of 95 cm and 50 cm. The preservative which had been used was Difusol-CB with consentration of 2,5 %. The physical properties which tested were moisture content and specific gravity, while the mechanical properties which tested were static bending strength, compression parallel to grain, and hardness. The testing standards used ASTM (American Society for Testing and Material) D-143 and D-2395 of 2008. The macroscopic structure of wood anatomy had been researched as a supporting data.en
