dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to investigate the characteristics of the relationship between the insect vector B. tabaci and the virus in transmitting tobacco leaf curl disease. The research covered the acquisition access period, inoculation access period, the number of insects required for transmission, the persistence of the virus within the vector body, and the development of a detection method for the tobacco leaf curl virus in the insect vector using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method. The study was conducted at the Plant Virology Laboratory and greenhouse of the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural Institute, from November 1998 to November 1999
