High content of Al on the soil maybe harmfirl (toxic for plant). Red and yellow podzolic soil was marginal land that characterized by highAl coil€tn . Azryiflhmsfr*living N fixing bacteria that canbe associated with grass. This research was conducted to find the best yield ofgrass planted on the soil inoculated with Anspirillum. The research consisted of some steps; l) soil sampling 2) laboratory research: bacterial isolation, isolate selectio4 standardized ofpopulatiorl contot ofIAA 3) pod experiment. Pod orperiment in the glass house was designed in completely randomized desig4 that consisted of six treatments. The variables observed were dry mass production ofshoot and root, nitrogen content ofshoot and root, and nitrogen absorption. Four b€st isolates chosen were; SM Setari4 OBIS/BD, PO2 and Plvl2. Amspirilhrm isolates enhanced slDot and root productio4 nitrogen contertr ud N total absorption oftolerance one (,S. rylendifu) The zusceptible (C. garyn\Azapilillron sigtifcantly enlnnced shoot and root nitrogen content, but did not affect the growtll production and N total absorption. Root growth that was inhibited byAl toxicity, decreased the symbiotic capability ofninogen ftfurg bacteria. PM2 isolate showed the best effect on production and quality ofS. qledi& *well u onC. gayoa. This isolate will be used for future research. PM2 produces 6.4 ppm Indole Acetic Acid that promoted root growth.en
