The Organizational Dynanuc Pesantren in West Java (Cases of Six Pesantren in West Java).
Abstract
The position of pesantren in Indonesia is important. For a long time, pesantren constributed in education and development of society. However, the organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and enlpowenlent of pesantren still need to be studied. The objectives of the research were quantitative and qualitative approach were implemented in study of organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and pesantren empowemlent. The data collection was carried out in West Java Province, since December 2001 until September 2002. The sample number of 160 people, consist of two strata, stratum 1: 90 persons studying in pesantren with doniutory, and stratum II: 70 persons studying in pesantreli without donnitory. The quantitative data had been analyzed by statistical M~MWhitney Test and Path Analysis. The conclusion of the research are: (1) the level of organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and pesantren elnpowenment are medium categories, (2) the organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and empowernment of pesantren with dormitory are better than pesantren without dormitory, (3) the organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and pesantren empowerment are different, (4) the organizational dynamic of pesantren most affected to pesantren empowerment, (5) the organizational dynamic of pesantren have correlations with effectiveness, quality, and pesantren enpowerment, (6) the organization process, organization individual, organization technology, and innovation of organization most affected to organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and empowenilent of pesantren with domutoq, and the organization structure, organization individual, and innovation of organization most affected to organizational dynamic, effectiveness, quality, and empowerment of pesantren without dormitory, (7) the student quality of pesantren with dormitory is better than pesantren without dormitory, (8) the leadership of pesantren is paternalistic and ineffective, (9) the organization management of pesantren before applied management principles, (10) the pesantren to live near the economic centre activities have stressed heavily, (11) the organization structure of pesantren is luecanically structure, (12) the organizational technology and innovation of organization pesantren with dormitory is better than pesantren without dormitory, (13) the innovation of new idea needed a long time to adoption, (14) the relations of student to leader in pesantren with dormitory is better than pesantren without dormitory, (15) the student expression of pesantren without dormitory is better than pesantren with dormitory, (16) the learning process of pesantren before expanded discuses, (17) the values and nornls in pesantren with dormitory is better save than pesantren without dormitory, (18) the pesantren with dormitory have respond to technology and innovation better than pesantren without dormitory, (19) the adaptation to change of pesantren is late, (20) the pesantren role is stressed educations religous rather than change agents; and (21) the trend of change pesantren in the f~turtea kes is the pesantren that also to carry out public shool.
