Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari tanggap stum klonal karet okulasi dini menggunakan media kemasan tertentu untuk pengiriman jarak jauh. Percobaan dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Institut Pertanian Bogor, Cikabayan, Darmaga, Bogor pada bulan Mei 2007 sampai dengan bulan Agustus 2007, sedangkan stum didatangkan dari Medan.id
dc.description.abstractAlternative stump procurement for distant shipping could be provided with young budded stumps. Various obstacles causing mechanical injuries need to be eliminated by proper wrapping media. The aim of this research was to study response of young budded rubber stumps to various wrapping media, clones and delay planting time (representing long distance transportation). Research was conducted at IPB Research Station, Cikabayan, Darmaga, Bogor from May until August 2007. Three factor factorial experiment was arranged on Split Split Plot Design with 4 replications. First factor (as main plot): 2 and 7 day-delay planting. The second factor (as sub plot): young budded clones of PB 260 and PB 330. The third factor (as sub sub plot): was wrapping media: no wrapping, cocopeat and newspaper. Least Significance Difference Analysis was performed whenever there was a significant effect of the factor as shown by ANOVA. Observed parameters were percentage of budbreak and viability of stump; length, diameter and dry weight of stem; leaf number and leaf area; number of and length of lateral roots and total root dry weight. Delaying on time of planting from 2 to 7 days did not decrease the growth of seedling, although budbreak of 7 day delay of planting were earlier that the 2 day delay of planting. Slower budbreak on 2 day delay of planting was no longer shown a significant effect on shoot growth at the end of experiment. This research also shown that the seedling with later budbreak were able to reach the same level of growth with the seedling with earlier budbreak. This because of they were supported by a better roots for absorbing soil moisture and nutrient for shoot growth.en
