Kajian produktivitas dan produk napu (Tragulus napu) di Provinsi Jambi

Abstract

Thirty-seven wild greater mouse deer (T. napu) were used to study productivity and pducts. The research were: 1) survey; 2) a preference test an feed, and 3) Product The feed offered were kangkong (Ipmoea aquatia), cabbage (Brmsica olmucea& aafirata), cassava leaves, cassava skin and cassava m i h o t esculenta mauz), banana kepok skin FWbanIa na di skin (Miisa pradiss~am)a nd sweet potato ( I p m t a batatus). Dressing percentage was 59.3 1% and proportion of carcass meat reached 73.46 %. The fat percentage and cholesterol concentrations of longissirnus dorsi muscle very low (1.43% d 13.17 mg1100g respectlvdy), while the lipid fractions showed that the total lipid were composed high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). The lipid composition of greater mouse deer tissue may serve as a model for dietary lipid recommendations in trdng and preventing chronic desease.

Penelitian menggunakan 37 ekor napu (Tragulus napu) liar yang diperoleh dari kawasan hutan Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian dibagi ke dalam tiga tahap: 1) survey; 2) pengujian terhadap penggunaan bahan pakan; dan 3) pengamatan produk. Pakan yang digunakan terdiri atas 8 macam, yaitu: kangkung (Ipomoea aquatica), kubis (Brassica oleracea fa capitata), daun, kulit dan singkong (Manihot esculenta crouz), kulit pisang uli dan kulit pisang kepok (Musa paradissiaca) dan ubi rambat (Ipomoea batatas). Diakhir penelitian dilakukan pemotongan sebanyak 5 ekor (4 ekor jantan dan 1 ekor betina) dengan bobot badan rata-rata 3017 ± 707 g.
