dc.description.abstractThe god of this research was to utilize the Pelung cock culled for bad crowing (with good meat qualities) for crossing with the Kampung chicken in order to obtained superiority. The reciprocal cross was also conducted besides the control treatment of K x K mating. Sixty-mature P_elung chgkens and sixty mature Kampung chickens were used in this research. Four matings were observed i.e. P x UP, P x aK, K x UP, K x aK, with ratio 1 : 5. Each matings were five repetetion. Production characteristics consisted of egg production, egg weights, fertility, hatchability and hatch weight. The results showed that Kampung cock and Pelung hen (K x P) crossing in the highest fertility compared the other crossing. The highest hatchability was showed by K x P crossing. K x P crossing was heighest in hatch weight also. Heterosis in fertility and hatch weight were 270% and 5,75% each. The reserch indicated that crossing increased fertility, hatchability and hatch weight. Selection hen Kampung is utilized for crossing in order to increase hatch weight.id
