Studi Pemanfaatan Karet Skim Baru sebagai Bahan Baku dalam Pembuatan Sol Karet

Abstract

Skim rubber as a by product in concentrated latex processing, nowadays has not been processed yet to the optimum, and it is still sold in the form of wet slabs at low price. It was happened because of the presently produced skim rubber is putrid odorous, and this smell remains, even after it is manufactured into rubber articles, so it is very limitedly used. Through a sodium hydroxide and phosphoric acid treatment, a Fresh serum which it still contains about 7% of dry rubber content, will result a better quality of skim rubber. That rubber namely a new skim rubber have no putrid odor, a light color, sticky less, and have a better technical and physical properties as same as the properties of SIR-10. The experimental result has revealed that this skim rubber can be used to produce shoe soles through the application of a special compounding formula, and the resulted shoe sole have closed to the Standard of Indonesian Shoe Sole.
