Abstract

Land quality or capability can decrease as a result of degradation process caused by erosion, nutrient and organic matter losses, acumulation of salt and toxic compound, or waterlogging. The effect of the decrease of land quality has caused the decrease of land productivity in the production of agricultural products. As a result, it can influence the economic condition such as the income accepted by the farmers is lower. Therefore, some efforts need to be done to prevent from the worse degradation process by preventing the quality and produductivity of land through determination of kinds or types of land use that suits to its capability but it still can give optimum economic profits for the fanners.
