Populasi Bakteri Thiobacillus ferooxidans di Kolom Tanah yang Berhasil dari Sedimen Berpirit dari Delta Telang, Musi Banyuasin, Sumatera Selatan, yang Mengalami Pengeringan dan Pencucian
Abstract
The dewatering process following natural or artificial drainage can oxidize pyrite from pyritic sediment. Oxidation of pyrite involve both chemical and biological processes in soil. The bacteria involve in the process of pyrite oxidation are Thiobacillus sp.; one of the111 is Thiobacillus ferooxidans. T. ferooxidans in soil of pyritic sediment acts as biocatalyst for rapid oxidation of pyrite by chemical process in low pH condition. The oxidation of pyrite by bacteria T. ferooxidans is increase at rate of 1 o6 times compared with chemical reaction.
