      Abstract

Non-potable water demand for handwashing and wudu facilities in the oil and gas industry still relies on raw water supply from reservoirs. This study aims to analyze rainwater potential and to design a standalone rainwater harvesting system and evaluate its water demand fulfillment for the handwashing and ablution facilities located outside the Exor Building, an office building at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional Unit VI Balongan. The design covered rainfall analysis, runoff discharge, gutter and piping dimensions, monthly water balance, and a simple gravity filtration unit. A 540 m² roof catchment generates a potential rainwater supply of 763.19 m³/year, while non-potable water demand reaches 130.50 m³/year over 261 working days. A 25 m³ tank capacity, determined from a critical dry-spell analysis, meets 79.66% of annual demand, while the water shortage (deficit) of 26.54 m³/year in August–October is met by the existing reservoir raw water supply.
