Finir kayu sungkai dan jati berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai material fungsional karena memiliki struktur berpori, ringan, dan mudah dimodifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengaplikasian nano magnetit (Fe3O4) terhadap sifat fisis finir kayu sungkai dan jati, perubahan warna, serta kemampuan mereduksi gelombang elektromagnetik. Nano magnetit (Fe3O4) diaplikasikan melalui metode impregnasi dan spray gun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaplikasian nano magnetit (Fe3O4) meningkatkan nilai weight percent gain, anti-swelling efficiency, dan kerapatan, serta menyebabkan perubahan warna dibandingkan kontrol. Metode impregnasi menghasilkan nilai anti-swelling efficiency, perubahan warna, dan reduksi gelombang elektromagnetik yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan metode spray gun. Sedangkan metode spray gun menghasilkan nilai leaching yang lebih tinggi. Pengaplikasian nano magnetit (Fe3O4) melalui metode impregnasi memberikan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan metode spray gun dalam meningkatkan sifat fisis dan kemampuan mereduksi gelombang elektromagnetik pada finir kayu sungkai dan jati. Sungkai and teak veneers have the potential to be developed as functional materials due to their porous, lightweight, and easily modified structures. This study aimed to analyze the effect of magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4) application on the physical properties of sungkai and teak veneers, color changes, and electromagnetic wave reduction capability. Fe3O4 nanoparticles were applied using impregnation and spray gun methods. The results showed that the application of magnetite nanoparticles Fe3O4 increased the weight percent gain, anti-swelling efficiency, and density, as well as caused color changes compared with the control samples. The impregnation method resulted in higher anti-swelling efficiency, color changes, and electromagnetic wave reduction capability compared with the spray gun method. Meanwhile, the spray gun method produced higher leaching values. The application of magnetite nanoparticles Fe3O4 through the impregnation method provided better performance than the spray gun method in improving the physical properties and electromagnetic wave reduction capability of sungkai and teak veneers.
