| dc.description.abstract | Sepsis merupakan peradangan seluruh tubuh akibat infeksi yang dapat berkembang menjadi syok septik dan menyebabkan gangguan pada beberapa sistem organ, termasuk perubahan metabolisme glukosa dan pengatur suhu tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perubahan kadar glukosa dan suhu tubuh pada model babi (Sus scrofa domestica) yang mengalami syok septik serta melihat hubungan kedua peubah tersebut sebagai penanda klinik tingkat keparahan sepsis. Penelitian menggunakan empat ekor babi jantan umur 4 – 6 bulan dengan bobot 40 – 60 kg yang diberikan endotoksin Escherichia coli lipopolisakarida (LPS) hingga terjadi hipotensi berkelanjutan. Kadar glukosa diperiksa menggunakan glukometer dan suhu tubuh diukur menggunakan termometer inframerah. Hasil menunjukkan adanya ragam perubahan kadar glukosa dan suhu tubuh antar hewan. Sebagian besar hewan mengalami penurunan kadar glukosa pada fase syok septik, sedangkan satu ekor mengalami peningkatan glukosa akibat reaksi fisiologik awal. Pada fase lanjut terjadi hipoglikemia dan kecenderungan penurunan suhu. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response to infection that can progress to septic shock and cause dysfunction in multiple organ systems, including alterations in glucose metabolism and thermoregulation. This study aimed to analyze changes in blood glucose and body temperature in a pig model (Sus scrofa domestica) subjected to septic shock and to examine the relationship between these two variables as clinical markers of sepsis severity. Four male pigs, 4 – 6 months old and weighing 40 – 60 kg, were administered Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) endotoxin until sustained hypotension occurred. Blood glucose levels were measured using a glucometer, and body temperature was assessed with an infrared thermometer. The results showed variation in glucose and body temperature changes among individuals. Most animals exhibited decreased blood glucose levels during the septic shock phase, while one animal showed an initial increase in glucose as a physiological response. In the later phase, hypoglycemia and a tendency toward lower body temperature were observed. | |
