      Model Penduga Tinggi Pohon Pinus (Pinus merkusii) di Areal Rehabilitasi Hutan Pendidikan Gunung Walat

      Abstract
      Pengukuran tinggi pohon secara langsung di lapangan sering kali membutuhkan waktu, tenaga, dan biaya yang cukup besar. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini mengembangkan model pendugaan tinggi pohon pinus di Hutan Pendidikan Gunung Walat. Pemilihan model dilakukan berdasarkan kriteria statistik, termasuk koefisien determinasi dan Root Square Mean Error (RMSE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang kuat antara tinggi pohon dan diameter pohon, sehingga model yang diusulkan dapat digunakan untuk menduga tinggi pohon berdasarkan pengukuran diameter dengan lebih efisien. Model penduga tinggi terbaik untuk menduga tinggi pohon di area TOSO Hutan Pendidikan Gunung Walat model M9 dengan persamaan T = a*(D^b)*(U^c). Model tersebut dapat menjelaskan variasi tinggi sebanyak 62% dengan RMSE 3,05 m. Jika data umur pohon tidak diketahui, dapat menggunakan model M3 dengan persamaan T = D / (a+(b*D)). Model tersebut dapat menjelaskan variasi tinggi sebanyak 61,4% dengan RMSE 3,08 m. Model pendugaan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi yang bermanfaat dalam kegiatan inventarisasi dan pengelolaan hutan di Hutan Pendidikan Gunung Walat, khususnya dalam mendukung kegiatan pendidikan dan penelitian di bidang kehutanan.
       
      Direct measurement of tree height in the field often demands considerable time, energy, and financial resources. To address this challenge, this study developed a model for estimating pine tree height in the Gunung Walat University Forest. Model selection was guided by statistical criteria, including the coefficient of determination and Root Mean Square Error. The findings reveal a strong correlation between tree height and diameter, indicating that the proposed model can reliably estimate tree height from diameter measurements with greater efficiency. The best height estimation model for estimating tree height in the TOSO area of the Gunung Walat University Forest is model M9, with the equation T = a*(D^b)*(U^c). This model explains 62% of the variation in tree height, with an RMSE of 3,05 m. If tree age data are unavailable, model M3 can be used, with the equation T = D / (a+(b*D)). This model explains 61,4% of the variation in tree height, with an RMSE of 3,08 m. This estimation model is expected to serve as a valuable reference for forest inventory and management in the Gunung Walat University Forest, particularly in supporting forestry education and research initiatives.
