Syok septik merupakan kondisi klinis yang ditandai oleh gangguan sirkulasi, disfungsi organ, dan perubahan metabolisme akibat respons inflamasi sistemik, termasuk perubahan kadar glukosa darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi perubahan kadar glukosa darah pada babi (Sus scrofa domestica) yang mengalami syok septik. Penelitian menggunakan tiga ekor babi jantan berumur 16–20 minggu dengan bobot badan 40–50 kg. Syok septik diinduksi menggunakan infus lipopolisakarida (Escherichia coli O111:B4), kemudian diberikan terapi resusitasi cairan Ringer Laktat. Kadar glukosa darah diukur menggunakan EasyTouch® GCU, sedangkan mean arterial pressure (MAP) digunakan sebagai indikator hemodinamik pada tiga waktu pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh babi mengalami penurunan MAP saat syok septik dan peningkatan setelah terapi resusitasi cairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan kadar glukosa darah selama syok septik bersifat dinamis dan bervariasi antar individu, sehingga perbaikan hemodinamik setelah resusitasi cairan tidak selalu diikuti oleh respons metabolisme glukosa yang seragam. Septic shock is a clinical condition characterized by circulatory disturbances, organ dysfunction, and metabolic alterations resulting from a systemic inflammatory response, including changes in blood glucose levels. This study aimed to evaluate changes in blood glucose levels in pigs (Sus scrofa domestica) experiencing septic shock. The study used three male pigs aged 16–20 weeks with body weights of 40–50 kg. Septic shock was induced by infusion of lipopolysaccharide (Escherichia coli O111:B4), followed by fluid resuscitation therapy using Ringer’s lactate solution. Blood glucose levels were measured using the EasyTouch® GCU, while mean arterial pressure (MAP) was used as a hemodynamic indicator at three observation time points. The results showed that all pigs experienced a decrease in MAP during septic shock and an increase after fluid resuscitation therapy. Blood glucose levels during septic shock showed dynamic and variable responses among individuals. Therefore, improvement in hemodynamic status following fluid resuscitation was not always accompanied by a uniform metabolic glucose response.
