dc.description.abstractEkosistem mangrove berperan penting sebagai penyerap dan penyimpan karbon sehingga mendukung mitigasi perubahan iklim. Ecomarine Mangrove Muara Angke merupakan kawasan mangrove hasil aforestasi yang belum memiliki informasi mengenai stok karbon, laju sekuestrasi karbon dioksida berdasarkan umur tegakan, maupun proyeksi baseline karbon dioksida. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sensus secara non-destructive dengan pendugaan biomassa melalui persamaan alometrik pada tujuh spesies mangrove. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata stok karbon berdasarkan umur tegakan sebesar 25,24 ton C/ha dengan laju sekuestrasi karbon dioksida sebesar 9,82 ton CO2/ha/tahun. Proyeksi baseline menunjukkan bahwa tanpa aforestasi, kawasan diperkirakan tetap didominasi semak belukar, tanah timbul hasil sedimentasi, dan tubuh air sehingga kapasitas serapan karbon dioksida relatif rendah. Aforestasi mangrove di Ecomarine Mangrove Muara Angke terbukti meningkatkan kapasitas serapan karbon dioksida kawasan dan mendukung upaya mitigasi perubahan iklim.
dc.description.abstractMangrove ecosystems play a vital role in carbon sequestration and storage, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation. Ecomarine Mangrove Muara Angke is an afforested mangrove area for which information on carbon stock, carbon dioxide sequestration rate by stand age, and carbon dioxide baseline projection is not yet available. This study employed a non-destructive census method, with biomass estimated using allometric equations for seven mangrove species and subsequently converted into carbon stock, CO2 uptake, and carbon sequestration rate. The results showed that the average carbon stock based on stand age was 25.24 tons C/ha, with an estimated carbon sequestration rate of 9.82 tons CO2/ha/year. The baseline projection indicates that, in the absence of afforestation, the area would likely remain dominated by shrubs, sediment accretion land, and water bodies, resulting in a relatively low carbon dioxide sequestration capacity. Mangrove afforestation in Ecomarine Mangrove Muara Angke has been shown to enhance the area's carbon dioxide sequestration capacity and support climate change mitigation efforts.
