      Abstract
      OCTAVIA RUNGKAT TUANI MANGASIH. Penyuluhan Pemanfaatan Mikroorganisme Lokal Berbasis Beram untuk Budidaya Tanaman Kangkung pada Masyarakat Adat Sungai Utik. Dibimbing oleh WIDYA HASIAN SITUMEANG dan MOCHAMAD HASJIM BINTORO DJOEFRIE. Penyuluhan pertanian berbasis kearifan lokal merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat adat dalam budidaya tanaman. Penelitian tersebut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman Masyarakat Adat Sungai Utik mengenai pembuatan dan pemanfaatan mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) berbahan dasar beram serta menganalisis pengaruh aplikasinya terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman kangkung. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan serta percobaan lapangan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh MOL terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beram yang memiliki nilai budaya terbukti dapat berperan sebagai MOL, sesuai dengan praktik tradisonal ‘memberi makan tanah’ oleh Komunitas Adat Sungai Utik. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan masyarakat setelah kegiatan penyuluhan. Masyarakat juga memberikan persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan MOL beram dalam budidaya kangkung. Selain hal tersebut, aplikasi MOL beram memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman, yang ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan tinggi tanaman, diameter batang dan jumlah daun. Penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan serta pemanfaatan MOL berpotensi menjadi inovasi berkelanjutan dalam mendukung pertanian ramah lingkungan berbasis masyarakat adat.
       
      OCTAVIA RUNGKAT TUANI MANGASIH. Agricultural on the Utilization of Beram-Based Local Microorganisms for Water Spinach Cultivation at Sungai Utik Indigenous Community. Supervised by WIDYA HASIAN SITUMEANG and MOCHAMAD HASJIM BINTORO DJOEFRIE. Community-based agricultural extension based on local wisdom is an effort to improve the knowledge and skills of Indigenous communities in crop cultivation. This study aimed to improve the understanding of the Sungai Utik Indigenous Community regarding the production and utilization of local microorganisms (MOL) made from beram, as well as to analyze the effects of its application on the growth of water spinach. The methods included agricultural extension activities, pre-tests and post-tests to measure improvements in knowledge, and field experiments to evaluate the effects of MOL application on plant growth. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and ANOVA. The results showed that beram, which holds cultural value, can function as a source of local microorganisms (MOL), in accordance with the traditional practice of “feeding the soil” practiced by the Sungai Utik Indigenous Community. There was a significant increase in the community’s knowledge following the extension activities. The community also expressed positive perceptions of the use of beram-based MOL in water spinach cultivation. Furthermore, the application of beram-based MOL had a significant effect on plant growth, as indicated by increases in plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves. This study demonstrates that community assistance and the utilization of MOL have the potential to serve as sustainable innovations in supporting environmentally friendly agriculture based on Indigenous knowledge and practices.
