dc.description.abstractBiodiesel merupakan bahan bakar terbarukan yang diproduksi melalui reaksi transesterifikasi dengan metanol sebagai alkohol utama. Penggunaan metanol berlebih dapat meninggalkan residu dalam biodiesel sehingga diperlukan metode analisis yang tervalidasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui validitas metode penentuan metanol dalam biodiesel menggunakan Gas Chromatography Headspace Flame Ionization Detector (GC-HS-FID) berdasarkan pedoman AOAC 2016. Parameter yang diuji meliputi linearitas, akurasi, presisi, limit of detection (LoD), limit of quantification (LoQ), ruggedness, dan robustness. Hasil menunjukkan LoD sebesar 1,0681 ppm, LoQ sebesar 3,5604 ppm, dan presisi dengan nilai %RSD 0,8160% memenuhi kriteria, namun parameter linearitas, akurasi, ruggedness, dan robustness belum memenuhi syarat AOAC 2016. Metode ini memerlukan optimasi lanjutan sebelum diterapkan secara rutin.
dc.description.abstractBiodiesel is a renewable fuel produced through transesterification using methanol as the primary alcohol. Excess methanol may remain as residue in biodiesel, necessitating a validated analytical method for its determination. This study aimed to evaluate the validity of a method for methanol determination in biodiesel using Gas Chromatography Headspace Flame Ionization Detector (GCHS- FID) in accordance with AOAC 2016 guidelines. Validation parameters included linearity, accuracy, precision, limit of detection (LoD), limit of quantification (LoQ), ruggedness, and robustness. The results demonstrated acceptable LoD was 1.0681 ppm, LoQ was 3.5604 ppm, and precision with a %RSD value of 0.8160%. However, the linearity, acuracy, ruggedness and robustness parameter did not meet the AOAC 2016 acceptance criteria. Therefore, further optimization is required before routine application.
