      Abstract

The management of organic waste in Dusun Tanubayan has not been done optimally, while members of the Tanubayan Youth Group have not received education about Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot bioconversion technology. This study aims to analyze the differences in participants' knowledge before and after the training, describe the participants' skill levels, and observe the implementation of BSF maggot farming. The study used a quantitative approach supported by qualitative data. Out of 36 group members, 30 were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, pre-tests, post-tests, skill checklists, and documentation. The training was conducted through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and monitoring over three weeks. Knowledge data were analyzed descriptively and using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, while skill data were analyzed using frequency distribution and percentage. Knowledge data were analyzed descriptively and using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, while skill data were analyzed using frequency and percentage distribution. The results showed that the average knowledge score increased from 5.77 or 57.67% in the pre-test to 7.87 or 78.67% in the post-test. A total of 28 participants showed an increase in scores, and two participants had unchanged scores. Skill assessments showed that 11 participants or 36.67% were highly skilled, 16 participants or 53.33% were skilled, and three participants or 10.00% were moderately skilled. Monitoring showed the physical changes of maggots from the larva phase to prepupa and pupa. These results indicate that BSF maggot bioconversion training can serve as an educational activity to improve knowledge and develop basic skills for the Tanubayan Youth Group in utilizing organic waste.
