| dc.description.abstract | Jambu biji merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang rentan terhadap serangan hama, salah satunya kutu Ceroplastes cirripediformis. Hama ini menyerang tanaman dengan mengisap cairan floem, sehingga menyebabkan penurunan pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman. Identifikasi spesies Ceroplastes sering kali sulit dilakukan karena tubuh serangga tertutup oleh lapisan lilin yang menghambat pengamatan morfologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan karakter morfologi dan morfometri pada setiap fase perkembangan, yaitu nimfa instar satu, dua, tiga, dan imago betina. Identifikasi morfologi dilakukan pada spesimen hidup dan preparat mikroskopis. Pengukuran morfometri meliputi panjang tubuh, lebar tubuh, dan tebal tubuh. Data dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan gambar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan ukuran tubuh sepanjang perkembangan, disertai dengan perubahan bentuk lapisan lilin dan perubahan karakter morfologi. Jumlah segmen antena dan stigmatic setae juga meningkat pada setiap fase perkembangan. Hasil penelitian ini mengonfirmasi bahwa kutu yang menyerang tanaman jambu biji adalah Ceroplastes cirripediformis. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Guava is a horticultural commodity that is susceptible to pest infestations, one of which is the scale insect Ceroplastes cirripediformis. This pest attacks plants by sucking phloem sap, resulting in reduced plant growth and productivity. Identification of Ceroplastes species is often difficult because the insect body is covered by a wax layer that hinders morphological observation. This study aimed to determine the morphological and morphometric characteristics at each developmental stage, namely first, second, third instar nymph, and female adult as well. Morphological observations were conducted on fresh specimens and slide-mounted specimens. Morphometric measurements included body length, body width, and body thickness. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and presented in the form of tables and figures. The results showed a progressive increase in body size throughout development, accompanied by changes in wax deposition and the appearance of diagnostic morphological characters. The number of antennal segments and stigmatic setae also increased with each developmental stage. The results confirmed that the wax scale infesting guava plants was Ceroplastes cirripediformis. | |
