| dc.description.abstract | The agile gibbon (Hylobates agilis) is an endangered arboreal primate that depends on suitable forest habitats. This study aimed to identify the distribution, population density, and vocalization patterns of agile gibbons in the peat swamp forest of PT Gemilang Cipta Nusantara (GCN), Riau Ecosystem Restoration, Kampar Peninsula. Data were collected from December 2025 to January 2026 using the triangle count method and Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) with AudioMoth recorders. The results showed seven agile gibbon groups distributed across four observation points with a clumped distribution pattern. The average density was 3.52 groups/km² or approximately 10.56–17.60 individuals/km². Acoustic analysis identified three vocalization types (long call, short call, and duet call), with peak vocal activity occurring at 06:00–07:00 WIB. These findings indicate that restored peat swamp forests remain capable of supporting agile gibbon populations and contribute to their conservation. | |
