      Keanekaragaman Jenis dan Prevalensi Infestasi Ektoparasit pada Kucing Terlantar di Kecamatan Cibinong Kabupaten Bogor.

      Abstract
      Kucing merupakan satu di antara hewan peliharaan yang berpotensi menjadi sumber penyakit zoonosis, melalui infestasi ektoparasit. Risiko infestasi ektoparasit relatif lebih tinggi pada kucing terlantar karena umumnya tidak mendapatkan pemeliharaan kesehatan yang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman jenis ektoparasit, menentukan prevalensi infestasi, dan mengukur derajat infestasi ektoparasit pada kucing terlantar di Kecamatan Cibinong. Sebanyak 100 ekor kucing terlantar yang menunjukkan gejala infestasi ektoparasit dari lima kelurahan di Kecamatan Cibinong diperiksa menggunakan metode penyisiran (flea comb), pemeriksaan helaian rambut (trichogram), kerokan kulit dengan scalpel dan ulas telinga menggunakan cotton bud. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan empat jenis ektoparasit, yaitu Ctenocephalides felis, Felicola subrostratus, Otodectes cynotis, dan Sarcoptes scabiei dengan prevalensi didominasi oleh C. felis yaitu pada 93 ekor kucing sampel, diikuti F. subrostratus. Sementara itu, infestasi O. cynotis dan S. scabiei selalu diikuti dengan infestasi pinjal dan kutu sebagai infestasi campuran (69%). Derajat infestasi setiap spesies yang ditemukan untuk C. felis dan F. subrostratus termasuk dalam kategori berat, sedangkan infestasi oleh O. cynotis dan S. scabiei umumnya termasuk dalam kategori ringan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa infestasi ektoparasit merupakan permasalahan kesehatan hewan yang penting sehingga diperlukan upaya pengendalian ektoparasit untuk meminimalkan risiko penularan dan potensi zoonosis yang ditimbulkannya.
       
      Cats are companion animals that may serve as a source of zoonotic diseases, including ectoparasite infestations. The risk of ectoparasite infestation is relatively higher in stray cats due to inadequate health care. This study aimed to identify ectoparasite species diversity, determine infestation prevalence, and assess infestation intensity in stray cats in Cibinong District. A total of 100 stray cats showing clinical signs of ectoparasite infestation from five urban villages in Cibinong District were examined using flea combing, trichogram, skin scraping with a scalpel, and ear swab techniques using cotton buds. Four ectoparasite species were identified: Ctenocephalides felis, Felicola subrostratus, Otodectes cynotis, and Sarcoptes scabiei. C. felis had the highest prevalence, found in 93 cats, followed by F. subrostratus. Infestations by O. cynotis and S. scabiei were always accompanied by flea and louse infestations, resulting in mixed infestations (69%). The infestation intensity was categorized as severe for C. felis and F. subrostratus, while O. cynotis and S. scabiei were generally categorized as mild. These findings indicate that ectoparasite infestation remains an important animal health concern, requiring integrated control strategies to minimize transmission and zoonotic potential.
