      Dinamika Fluks CO2 pada Tanah Gambut dengan Pendekatan Ex-situ

      Abstract
      Lahan gambut merupakan ekosistem penyimpan karbon dalam jumlah besar yang rentan mengalami pelepasan karbon ke atmosfer akibat perubahan kondisi lingkungan dan pengelolaan lahan. Salah satu bentuk pelepasan karbon tersebut adalah fluks CO2 yang berasal dari respirasi dan dekomposisi bahan organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika fluks CO2 pada tanah gambut menggunakan metode ex-situ, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi fluks CO2, serta membandingkan hasil pengukuran ex-situ dengan pengukuran in- situ. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Agustus 2025 di Kampus IPB Dramaga menggunakan sampel tanah gambut utuh yang berasal dari PT Bukit Batu Hutani Alam, Riau. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan metode closed chamber dan analisis konsentrasi CO2 menggunakan Infrared Gas Analyzer (IRGA) Fuji Electric ZFP9GC11. Penelitian terdiri atas dua perlakuan, yaitu tanah gambut dengan serasah (E1) dan tanpa serasah (E2), masing-masing dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian meunjukan bahwa fluks CO2tanah gambut berfluktuasi, di mana penambahan serasah menghasilkan fluks yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan tanpa serasah, yaitu sebesar 30,92 ton CO2/ha/tahun dan 23,13 ton CO2/ha/tahun. Suhu tanah dan curah hujan harian, serta keberadaan serasah, memengaruhi nilai fluks yang dihasilkan. Hasil pengukuran ex-situ menunjukan kecenderungan nilai yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan hasil pengukuran in-situ. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pengukuran ex-situ dapat digunakan untuk menggambarkan respons respirasi heterotrof tanah gambut dalam kondisi yang lebih terkontrol, tetapi belum sepenuhnya merepresentasikan besarnya fluks CO2 pada kondisi alami di lapangan.
       
      Peatlands are ecosystems that store large amounts of carbon and are vulnerable to carbon release into the atmosphere due to changes in environmental conditions and land management. One form of carbon release is CO₂ flux resulting from respiration and organic matter decomposition. This study aimed to investigate CO₂ flux dynamics in peat soil using an ex-situ method, identify factors influencing CO₂ flux, and compare ex-situ measurements with in-situ measurements. The study was conducted in August 2025 at IPB University, Dramaga Campus, using intact peat soil samples collected from PT Bukit Batu Hutani Alam, Riau. Measurements were conducted using the closed chamber method, and CO₂ concentrations were analyzed using a Fuji Electric ZFP9GC11 Infrared Gas Analyzer (IRGA). The study consisted of two treatments: peat soil with litter (E1) and without litter (E2), each with three replicates. The results showed that CO₂ flux in peat soil fluctuated throughout the observation period, with litter addition producing higher fluxes than the treatment without litter, at 30.92 tons CO₂/ha/year and 23.13 tons CO₂/ha/year, respectively. Soil temperature, daily rainfall, and litter presence influenced the measured CO₂ flux. The ex-situ measurements showed a tendency to produce lower CO₂ flux values than the in-situ measurements. These results indicate that the exsitu approach can be used to characterize the heterotrophic respiration response of peat soil under more controlled conditions, but it does not fully represent the magnitude of CO₂ flux under natural field conditions.
