dc.description.abstractLindi hitam hasil proses kraft kayu tusam (Pinus merkusii) berpotensi sebagai sumber lignin terbarukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan asam maleat dan asam klorida (HCl) terhadap rendemen dan karakteristik lignin hasil isolasi. Lignin diisolasi dari lindi hitam pada pH 2 menggunakan asam maleat 5% dan HCl 1 N. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi rendemen, kemurnian, tipe monomer, berat ekuivalen, kandungan gugus hidroksil fenil (phOH), dan aktivitas antioksidan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent Samples T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua isolat memiliki kadar air di bawah 10%, sedangkan kadar abu lignin hasil isolasi menggunakan asam maleat pada pH 2 (LTMA) dan lignin hasil isolasi menggunakan asam klorida pada pH 2 (LTHA) berturut-turut sebesar 0,64% dan 0,82%. LTHA memiliki kemurnian lignin (92,21%), kandungan phOH (9,81 mmol/g), dan aktivitas antioksidan yang lebih tinggi (54,43% inhibisi), sedangkan LTMA memiliki berat ekuivalen yang lebih tinggi (1031,33 g/mL). Kedua isolat lignin didominasi oleh unit guaiasil (G).
dc.description.abstractBlack liquor from kraft pulping of pine wood (Pinus merkusii) is a potential renewable source of lignin. This study evaluated the effect of maleic acid and hydrochloric acid (HCl) on the yield and characteristics of isolated lignin. Lignin was precipitated from black liquor at pH 2 using 5% maleic acid or 1 N HCl. The analyzed parameters included lignin yield, purity, monomer composition, equivalent weight, hydroxy phenolic (phOH) content, and antioxidant activity. Data were analyzed using an Independent Samples T-Test. Both isolated lignin had moisture contents below 10%, meanwhile, the ash contents of isolated lignin using maleic acid at pH 2 (LTMA) and hydrochloric acid at pH 2 (LTHA) were 0,64% and 0,82%. LTHA showed higher lignin purity (92,21%), phOH content (9,81 mmol/g), and antioxidant activity (54,43% inhibition), while LTMA had a higher equivalent weight (1031,33 g/mL). Both isolated lignin were dominated by guaiacyl (G) units.
