      Abstract
      Fever is a common inflammatory response with potential adverse effects when prolonged; plant-based antipyretics may offer safer alternatives to synthetic drugs. This study assessed the antipyretic efficacy of a combined Moringa oleifera and Cinnamomum burmannii infusion in peptone-induced fever in Rattus norvegicus. A 100% stock infusion was prepared by boiling 40 g dried simplicia in 400 ml water and diluted to 10%, 20%, and 40% concentrations. Rats were randomized into negative control, positive control (standard antipyretic), and three treatment groups receiving respective dilutions by oral gavage. Rectal temperatures were recorded at baseline, 15 minutes, and every 30 minutes up to 150 minutes. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA with post-hoc tests (p < 0.05). Results showed a dose-dependent antipyretic effect: 20% and 40% infusions produced significant reductions in rectal temperature versus negative control.
       
      Demam adalah respons inflamasi umum dengan potensi efek samping jika berkepanjangan; antipiretik berbasis tumbuhan dapat menjadi alternatif yang lebih aman daripada obat sintetis. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menilai potensi sebagai antipiretik dari infus gabungan Moringa oleifera dan Cinnamomum burmannii pada demam yang diinduksi menggunakan pepton pada tikus (Rattus norvegicus). Infus stok 100% disiapkan dengan merebus 40 g simplisia kering dalam 400 ml air dan diencerkan hingga konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 40%. Tikus dikelompokkan dalam kontrol positif (antipiretik standar), dan tiga kelompok perlakuan yang menerima pengenceran masing-masing melalui pemberian oral. Suhu rektal dicatat pada awal, 15 menit, dan setiap 30 menit hingga 150 menit. Data dianalisis dengan ANOVA satu arah dengan uji post-hoc (p < 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efek antipiretik yang bergantung pada dosis: infus 20% dan 40% menghasilkan penurunan suhu rektal yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan kontrol negatif.
