Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis secara deskriptif dinamika kadar air tanah setelah pengendalian gulma secara mekanis dan kimiawi pada areal kelapa sawit TBM 3. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Agustus–Desember 2025 di PT Brahma Binabakti, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Kadar air tanah dianalisis dengan metode gravimetri, sedangkan suhu tanah, kelembapan tanah, suhu udara, dan curah hujan diamati sebagai parameter pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kadar air tanah pada kondisi baseline, mekanis, dan kimiawi berturut-turut sebesar 25,66%, 25,46%, dan 24,97%. Dibandingkan kondisi baseline, kadar air tanah pada perlakuan mekanis menurun sebesar 0,20 poin, sedangkan pada perlakuan kimiawi sebesar 0,69 poin. Pengendalian gulma secara mekanis menunjukkan kecenderungan mempertahankan kadar air tanah lebih mendekati kondisi baseline dibandingkan pengendalian gulma secara kimiawi. Hasil penelitian bersifat deskriptif dan tidak digunakan untuk menyatakan perbedaan nyata secara statistik. ARI PURBA. This study aimed to descriptively analyze soil water content dynamics following mechanical and chemical weed control in a Year-3 immature oil palm plantation. The study was conducted from August to December 2025 at PT Brahma Binabakti, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province.. Soil water content was determined by the gravimetric method, while soil temperature, soil moisture, air temperature, and rainfall were recorded as supporting parameters. The average soil water content under baseline, mechanical, and chemical treatments was 25.66%, 25.46%, and 24.97%, respectively. Compared with the baseline, soil water content decreased by 0.20 percentage points under mechanical weed control and 0.69 percentage points under chemical weed control. Mechanical weed control tended to maintain soil water content closer to the baseline than chemical weed control. As a descriptive observational study, the findings were not intended to determine statistically significant treatment effects.
