dc.description.abstractTapir (Tapirus indicus) merupakan satwa dilindungi dengan status terancam punah yang keberlangsungan hidupnya bergantung pada kondisi dan kualitas habitat. Taman Nasional Way Kambas merupakan salah satu kawasan konservasi di Sumatera yang menjadi habitat utama tapir. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi karakteristik habitat dan pola sebaran tapir di Resort Rawa Bunder. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Februari–Maret 2026. Analisis vegetasi menggunakan metode garis berpetak dengan ukuran plot 20 × 20 m ditempatkan pada jalur transek sepanjang 1 km dengan jarak antarplot 100 m. Data sebaran tapir diperoleh melalui metode line transect berdasarkan perjumpaan langsung maupun tidak langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tapir ditemukan pada habitat dengan suhu (27–36°C), tutupan tajuk rapat (>70%), kelerengan (0–8%) dan ketinggian (25–50 mdpl), ketersediaan pakan melimpah, dekat dari sumber air dan jalan (0–500 m). Sebaran spasial membentuk pola mengelompok dengan ditemukannya 56 jejak aktivitas tapir. Analisis menunjukkan sebaran tapir memiliki hubungan dengan jarak dari sumber air namun tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan jarak dari jalan.
dc.description.abstractTapir (Tapirus indicus) is a protected species classified as endangered whose survival depends on the condition and quality of its habitat. Way Kambas National Park is one of the key conservation areas in Sumatra that serves the primary habitat for tapirs. This study aims to identify the habitat characteristics and distribution patterns of tapirs in Rawa Bunder Resort. The study was conducted from February to March 2026. Vegetation analysis used line-plot method with 20 × 20 m plots placed along 1 km transect at 100 m intervals. Tapir distribution data were obtained using line-transect method based on direct and indirect encounters. The results showed that tapirs were found in habitats with temperatures ranging from 27°C to 36°C, dense canopy cover (>70%), slopes of 0–8%, and elevations of 25–50 masl, where food was abundant and the area was close to water sources and roads (0–500 m). The spatial distribution formed a clustered pattern with 56 signs of tapir activity identified. The analysis showed that tapir distribution was related to distance from water sources but did not show a significant relationship with distance from roads.
