dc.description.abstractNAILI RAHMATUL FITRI. Pengaruh Perendaman H2SO4 Terhadap Pemecahan Dormansi Benih Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora). Dibimbing oleh SUPIJATNO. Benih kopi robusta memiliki dormansi fisik akibat kulit biji yang keras sehingga memperlambat proses perkecambahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman asam sulfat (H2SO4) dalam memecahkan dormansi benih kopi robusta serta menentukan konsentrasi yang optimal. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PTPN I Regional 5 Kebun Bangelan, Malang pada bulan Agustus hingga Desember 2025. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak dengan lima taraf konsentrasi H2SO4, yaitu 0% (kontrol), 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20%, masing-masing direndam selama 25 menit dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman H2SO4 berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase perkecambahan, kecepatan perkecambahan, waktu munculnya kecambah pertama, dan persentase kepelan hidup, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang akar dan tinggi kecambah. Konsentrasi 5% memberikan hasil terbaik dengan persentase perkecambahan 82,67%, kecepatan perkecambahan 2,89 benih per hari, waktu muncul kecambah pertama tercepat 14,77 hari, dan persentase kepelan hidup tertinggi 65,33%. Konsentrasi 20% bersifat toksik dan menurunkan seluruh parameter perkecambahan secara nyata. Konsentrasi H2SO4 5% dengan lama perendaman 25 menit direkomendasikan sebagai perlakuan pematahan dormansi benih kopi robusta.
dc.description.abstractRobusta coffee seeds exhibit physical dormancy due to their hard seed coat, which delays the germination process. This study aimed to determine the effect of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) soaking on breaking seed dormancy and to identify the optimal concentration. The research was conducted at PTPN I Regional 5 Bangelan Estate, Malang from August to December 2025. A Randomized Complete Block Design was used with five H2SO4 concentration levels, namely 0% (control), 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, each soaked for 25 minutes with three replications. The results showed that H2SO4 soaking significantly affected germination percentage, germination rate, time to first emergence, and percentage of viable seedlings, but had no significant effect on root length and seedling height. The 5% concentration produced the best results with a germination percentage of 82.67%, a germination rate of 2.89 seeds per day, the fastest first emergence at 14.77 days, and the highest viable seedling percentage of 65.33%. The 20% concentration was toxic and significantly reduced all germination parameters. A concentration of 5% H2SO4 with 25 minutes soaking duration is recommended as a dormancy-breaking treatment for robusta coffee seeds.
