      Abstract
      MIRA MARDHIAH. Degradasi Lahan dan Kekritisan Lahan di Sub DAS Krueng Khea Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Dibimbing oleh MUHAMMAD ARDIANSYAH dan DARMAWAN. Degradasi lahan merupakan salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang terjadi akibat perubahan penggunaan lahan, seperti konversi hutan menjadi lahan pertanian, perkebunan, maupun bentuk pemanfaatan lainnya. Perubahan tersebut dapat menurunkan kualitas dan fungsi lahan sehingga berkembang menjadi lahan kritis yang ditandai dengan menurunnya kemampuan lahan dalam mendukung fungsi produksi, hidrologi, ekologis, dan sosial ekonomi. Sub DAS Krueng Khea merupakan bagian dari DAS Krueng Aceh yang mengalami tekanan akibat perubahan penggunaan lahan sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan degradasi lahan dan kekritisan lahan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pemetaan kondisi lahan sebagai dasar penyusunan strategi rehabilitasi dan pengelolaan DAS secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan tingkat degradasi lahan menggunakan pendekatan Global Assessment of Human-induced Soil Degradation (GLASOD), memetakan tingkat kekritisan lahan berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Republik Indonesia Nomor 10 Tahun 2022, serta membandingkan hasil kedua metode tersebut di Sub DAS Krueng Khea, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode survei dengan pengumpulan data primer melalui pengecekan lapangan dan wawancara, serta data sekunder berupa peta tutupan lahan, kemiringan lereng, jenis tanah, dan curah hujan. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan sistem informasi geografis (SIG) melalui tumpang susun spasial, pembobotan, dan ModelBuilder, sedangkan hasil pemetaan dianalisis secara deskriptif-spasial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat degradasi lahan di Sub DAS Krueng Khea didominasi kelas sedang seluas 7.684,17 ha (80,05%). Penilaian kekritisan lahan menunjukkan dominasi kelas kritis seluas 4.878,26 ha (50,82%), diikuti kelas agak kritis 2.368,32 ha (24,67%) dan sangat kritis 1.302,63 ha (13,57%). Tumpang susun kedua peta menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan tingkat degradasi secara umum berasosiasi dengan meningkatnya kekritisan, tetapi hubungan tersebut tidak bersifat satu banding satu karena kedua metode menggunakan parameter, bobot, dan tujuan penilaian yang berbeda. Kemiringan lereng dan tutupan/penggunaan lahan, terutama semak belukar, pertanian lahan kering campur, dan padang rumput pada lereng lebih dari 15%, merupakan kombinasi biofisik yang paling banyak berasosiasi dengan kelas kerusakan tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar penentuan prioritas rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan serta pengelolaan DAS secara berkelanjutan.
       
      MIRA MARDHIAH. Land Degradation and Critical Land in the Krueng Khea Sub-Watershed, Aceh Besar Regency. Supervised by MUHAMMAD ARDIANSYAH and DARMAWAN. Land degradation is a major environmental issue resulting from land use conversion, particularly the transformation of forest areas into agricultural, plantation, and other land uses. Such changes reduce land quality and functionality, leading to the development of critical land characterized by declining productivity and diminished ecological and hydrological functions. The Krueng Khea Sub-watershed, which forms part of the Krueng Aceh Watershed, has experienced increasing pressure from land use change, highlighting the need for spatial assessment to support sustainable land management and rehabilitation planning. This study aimed to (1) map the spatial distribution of land degradation using an adapted Global Assessment of Human-induced Soil Degradation (GLASOD) approach, (2) assess critical land based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2022, and (3) compare both assessments and their spatial association with land cover/use and slope in the Krueng Khea Sub-watershed, Aceh Besar Regency. Primary data were obtained through field checking and interviews, while secondary data included land-cover, slope, soil, and rainfall maps. Spatial processing is carried out using a geographic information system (GIS) trough overlay, weighting, and ModelBuilder, followed by descriptive spatial analysis. The results show that moderate land degradation dominates 7,684.17 ha (80.05%) of the study area. Critical-land assessment is dominated by the critical class (4,878.26 ha; 50.82%), followed by moderately critical (2,368.32 ha; 24.67%) and severely critical land (1,302.63 ha; 13.57%). Overlay analysis indicates that higher degradation is generally associated with higher criticality; however, the relationship is not one-to-one because the two approaches use different parameters, weights, and assessment objectives. Slope and land cover/use, particularly shrubland, mixed dryland agriculture, and grassland on slopes above 15%, are the principal biophysical combinations associated with severe land conditions. The findings support prioritization of land rehabilitation and sustainable watershed management.
