Teknik Sinematografi oleh Director Of Photography dalam Pembuatan Video Profile PPSDM ANRI

Abstract

PPSDM ANRI merupakan lembaga pengembangan sumber daya manusia kearsipan yang terus bertransformasi, namun belum memiliki konten visual berdurasi panjang yang mampu memperkenalkan identitas, fasilitas, dan nilai instansi secara utuh kepada audiens yang lebih luas. Kebutuhan tersebut mendasari produksi Video Profile berdurasi 20 menit, yang merekam program unggulan, peran, dan kontribusi PPSDM ANRI melalui sudut pandang narasumber serta visualisasi lingkungan kerja instansi. Proyek akhir ini berfokus pada peran Director of Photography (DoP) dalam menerjemahkan visi dan pesan institusi menjadi bahasa visual yang komunikatif serta bermakna bagi audiens. Tujuan proyek akhir ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses kerja DoP pada tahap produksi serta menguraikan penerapan teknik sinematografi oleh DoP pada Video Profile tersebut, dengan mengadaptasi empat aspek sinematografi yaitu ukuran shot, framing dan komposisi, sudut kamera, serta pergerakan kamera. Data proyek diperoleh melalui partisipasi aktif DoP sebagai DoP sepanjang tahap praproduksi hingga pascaproduksi, yang didukung dengan studi literatur mengenai media audiovisual, Video Profile, director of photography, dan sinematografi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa proses kerja DoP mencakup riset visual, penyusunan visual reference, survei lokasi, dan persiapan alat pada tahap praproduksi, seperti penetapan parameter kamera, pengambilan audio, pengumpulan B-roll, serta penanganan hambatan teknis dan logistik di lapangan pada tahap produksi, hingga peninjauan dan pemilahan materi rekaman pada tahap pascaproduksi. Penerapan keempat aspek sinematografi terbukti berperan dalam menempatkan kegiatan dan fasilitas institusi pada konteks visual yang relevan, mengarahkan perhatian dan jarak emosional penonton, menjaga koherensi ruang dan waktu antardegan, serta memanfaatkan pencahayaan sebagai alat storytelling. Secara keseluruhan, peran DoP dalam produksi Video Profile tidak sekadar menghasilkan gambar yang estetis, melainkan memastikan setiap keputusan visual berfungsi sebagai bahasa yang mendukung penyampaian identitas dan nilai instansi secara konsisten.

PPSDM ANRI is an evolving human resource development institution specializing in archives; however, it lacked long-form visual content capable of comprehensively introducing its identity, facilities, and values ??to a broader audience. This need drove the production of a 20-minute profile video showcasing the institution's flagship programs, roles, and contributions through the perspectives of key figures and visuals of the work environment. This final project focuses on the role of the Director of Photography (DoP) in translating the institution's vision and message into a visual language that is both communicative and meaningful to the audience. The project aims to describe the DoP’s workflow during production and detail the application of cinematographic techniques—specifically shot size, framing and composition, camera angles, and camera movement. Data was gathered through the author's active participation as the DoP from pre-production through post-production, supported by a literature review covering audiovisual media, profile videos, the role of the DoP, and cinematography. The results indicate that the DoP’s workflow encompassed visual research, the compilation of visual references, location scouting, and equipment preparation during pre-production; setting camera parameters, capturing audio, gathering B-roll, and managing technical and logistical challenges in the field during production; and reviewing and selecting footage during post-production. The application of the four cinematographic aspects proved instrumental in placing the institution's activities and facilities within a relevant visual context, guiding the audience's attention and emotional distance, maintaining spatial and temporal coherence between scenes, and utilizing lighting as a storytelling tool. Overall, the DoP’s role in the profile video production went beyond merely creating aesthetic images; it ensured that every visual decision served as a language that consistently supported the communication of the institution's identity and values.
