      Abstract
      Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) Sumur Batu Kota Bekasi masih beroperasi dengan sistem open dumping dan mengalami kelebihan kapasitas, sehingga menimbulkan dampak lingkungan berupa emisi gas metana (CH4), bau, serta potensi gangguan terhadap permukiman di sekitarnya. Kondisi tersebut diperparah oleh belum tersedianya buffer zone. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan buffer zone TPA Sumur Batu berdasarkan estimasi emisi gas metana dan kebutuhan serapan karbon. Potensi emisi CH4 dihitung menggunakan pemodelan Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), kemudian dikonversi menjadi CO2 ekuivalen untuk menentukan kebutuhan serapan karbon. Perencanaan buffer zone dilakukan melalui pemodelan dispersi Gaussian dengan software Aermod dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi meteorologi sekitar. Hasil penelitian berupa rekomendasi perencanaan buffer zone pada lahan potensial dan zona nonaktif yang dapat mereduksi dampak dari potensi emisi gas landfill. Kemampuan serapan karbon vegetasi pada buffer zone dihitung secara kuantitatif menggunakan i-Tree Eco untuk mengestimasi besarnya karbon yang dapat diserap oleh vegetasi sebagai dasar evaluasi efektivitas buffer zone.       Sumur Batu Landfill in Bekasi City is still operated using an open dumping system and has exceeded its design capacity, resulting in methane (CH4) emissions, odor, and potential impacts on nearby residential areas. These conditions are exacerbated by the absence of a buffer zone. This study aims to develop a buffer zone plan based on estimated methane emissions and the required carbon sequestration capacity. Methane emissions were estimated using the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) model and converted into CO2 equivalent (CO2e) to determine the required carbon sequestration. Buffer zone planning was conducted using Gaussian dispersion modeling with Aermod software under local meteorological conditions. The study proposes a buffer zone plan for potential land and inactive landfill zones to mitigate the impacts of landfill gas emissions. The carbon sequestration capacity of the proposed vegetation was quantitatively estimated using i-Tree Eco to evaluate the effectiveness of the buffer zone.
